Let's talk about LHM filters!: Cleaning,
Depressurising & Pressurising hydraulic system
Hi! this is  what Citroen users need to know. It is important step to save your high pressure pump and keep your citroen running at minimum hydraulic  problem.
If needed or at least twice a year, you need to clean your LHM filters. For Xantia users, if your car "STOP" lamp is not disappear within 5-7 seconds, or unsmooth while you turing steering wheel, or "STOP" lamp show while you drive ,please check your filters.

-Work when LHM is cool.
-keep your car in minimum (service) position.
-prepare some detergents, cleaning petrol and old tooth brush..
Working with LHM, be prepare for dirty. You need to have cleaning petrol and detergent to clean components. Cleaning petrol is easy to find and it is easy to remove LHM and dirt from parts.

Before getting start, screwdrive and wrench #12 (ประแจเบอร์ 12) are necessary. Then follow thie following steps;

First, you must depressurising the hydraulic system by:
1.Unscrew the release screw by one turn
2.lower the height control lever to the minimum position and allow the vehicle to sink down.
3.Release the hydrolic pressure regulator screw (bolt  #12) -the pressure release screw located on the main accumulator at the front of the engine. (see pic1. below)

(for later model with antisink or hydractive-follow this step)
you must keep the engine running during the operation. Then set the height control lever to minimum,  and release the screw #12. Then, stop the engine.

Secondly, remove all secure belts of suction pipe and all return pipes lacated on top of the LHM reservoir. Then, unclip the filters.  (see pic2. and pic3. below)

Thirdly, cleaning filters with cleaning petrol and detergent. Then make them dry.  If you do once a year, I recommend you to change NEW LHM and cleaning the LHM reservoir. If you do more ofter, just cleaning the filters is fine. And renew LHM only once a year.
Fourthly, re-assumble everything back to original places.

Fifth, tightening the pressure release screw and start the engine, then set the vehicle to the maximun height.

Lastly, loosen the screw once again for few minutes. Re-tightening the screw till the STOP lamp goes off, then loosen and tighten the pressure regulator release screw several times to bleed the air from the system.
When everything had done, you will see it clean and clear. Now ready to take off.

Pic 2. Unscrew the belts and pull the hoses carefully
Push down the tank's clip on the side near you when you stand in front of the car first, and twist your hand to unclip the other side (right picture)
Finally, you will left only tank. If you need to change LHM or filter it, you can do it by just removing 2 bolts at the top right of the picture below.
